8/1/2023 0 Comments Stack onThe last few years have been a whirlwind for 2 sisters, from having a number 4 in the UK Official UK Charts with ‘Smile for Bradley’, to supporting BBC The Voice Winner Kevin Simm, X Factor favourites Union J, Sam Lavery, Joey Devries and Rebecca Ferguson, the legends that are The Vegaboys and Alexander O'Neal to recording a number of tracks professionally a number of tracks which have been mixed and mastered in London and LA. Their Tropical/Pop tracks are unique and enjoyable. With an impressive range and a soulful tone, she invites comparisons with current artists such as Zara Larson and Demi Lovato. Olivia on vocals is just as accomplished. Georgia produces all the duo’s tracks and is something of a virtuoso, she is entirely self-taught and has played to crowds varying between 5,000 and 30,000 at events for TFM Radio and Metro FM. Olivia and Georgia are sisters based in the North East and regularly perform at various festivals across the region and nationally. The band also enjoyed a recent performance at BT Murrayfield Stadium for the Scotland vs England match at the Guinness Six Nations. The band has featured on festival line ups throughout the UK including Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Haslemere Fringe Festival and Lindisfarne Festival and performed across Europe and the USA including appearances at BB King’s during New York Tartan Week and a Burns Supper at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius. The band are actively working on some new material for release in 2022. Gleadhraich’s latest EP, ‘Rewritten’ was released in August 2019. The band released ‘ Definition’ in 2016 which was well received with Jim Gellatly including the track, ‘Face Palm’ in a list for the Scottish Sun of the top tracks released in the country that month as well as Piping Today describing the record as “putting it’s own stamp on the sub sub-genre” of celtic rock. Gleadhraich released their debut EP, ‘Pipe Dreams’ in 2014 and the follow up, ‘Where We’re From’ was released in March 2015 to critical acclaim. The band is made up of Craig Weir (Bagpipes/ Vocals), Ross White (Guitar/ Vocals), Paul Weir (Percussion) and Graeme Ritchie (Bass Guitar) who are complimented by a fluctuating collective of saxophone, trombone, accordion and keyboard, affectionately dubbed “the Accordihorns”. Gleadhraich are a celtic rock band formed in Carnoustie, Angus in 2010 while students at school.
